about
this poem turned into song was created during a program called pathwaves for female and non binary musicians. it is the capture of melancholic, dreamy yet brave emotions merging into self love that was lost and found in the midst of agony.
lyrics
what a bright night
i feel so at ease
even though there is no reason yet for my heart to fall asleep
my mind is stirred up
i’m confused by the day
still weighing up if i want the memories to fade or to stay
but one sure thing i owe myself to confess
the night goes on and without you it would be best
in circles i move as i embrace the thought of you
i'll spin around only one more time
giving myself a last moment to think of you as a part of my life
at last i embrace myself and fall in love with my life
if not now at least i fall to sleep in this night
so morning comes and i confess
that the night went on and without you it was best
